How to Get Apollo TV, from Zero to Watching in Five Steps

Apollo Group TV Editorial Team 9 min read

Quick answer

To get Apollo TV, check that your device is supported and your internet can handle live TV, create an account and choose a pack, pay your invoice and wait for activation, then install the app and sign in with the details from My Account. Every pack is a one-time payment with no automatic renewal.

How to Get Apollo TV, from Zero to Watching in Five Steps, a Getting Started guide from the Apollo Group TV blog

Getting Apollo TV isn't complicated, but it does involve a few separate pieces: a device that can run the app, an internet connection that can carry live TV, an account, a pack, a payment and an installation. Done in the right order, it takes well under an hour. Done in the wrong order, you can end up paying before discovering your TV stick can't install the app.

The steps below follow the order that avoids that kind of surprise, and each one links to its detailed guide. If you just want to start, the five-step summary comes first.

The five steps at a glance

  1. Check your device can run the Apollo TV app.
  2. Check your internet is ready for live TV.
  3. Create your account and choose a pack.
  4. Pay and wait for activation.
  5. Install the app and sign in with your login details.

The first two steps take five minutes and save most of the problems people run into later.

You don't need a contract, a cable box or a satellite dish. Every pack is a one-time payment for a fixed period, and nothing renews automatically.

Step 1: Check your device is supported

The Apollo TV app runs on a range of devices, and the list of verified devices is on our Apollo TV app page. At the time of writing, it covers:

  • Fire TV and Android TV devices, installed with the free Downloader app.
  • Android phones and tablets, installed from an official download.
  • Windows and Mac computers.
  • iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, using a compatible player app with your login details.

A warning about new Fire TV models

Some Fire TV models released from late 2025 onwards run a new system called Vega OS instead of the Android-based Fire OS. Vega OS devices only install apps from the Amazon Appstore, so they can't install the Apollo TV app. If you're buying a Fire TV stick for Apollo TV, read our guide to the best Fire TV Stick for IPTV first; it explains how to check which system a device runs.

Don't have a supported device yet?

A streaming stick is usually the cheapest way to watch on a TV. If you already own a Samsung or LG smart TV, our article on watching Apollo TV on a Samsung or LG TV explains your options.

Step 2: Make sure your internet is ready

Live TV is more demanding than films or series on demand, because it can only buffer a few seconds ahead. Speed matters, but consistency matters more.

Quick checks

  • Run a speed test on the device you'll watch on, not your phone next to the router.
  • Test in the evening, when connections are busiest.
  • Look at how much the result varies, not just the top number.

Published guidelines suggest around 5 Mbps for one HD stream and 15 to 25 Mbps for one 4K stream. For live TV, aim for roughly double that per stream your household watches at once. Our guide to the internet speed you need for IPTV shows how to add it up for your home.

If your TV is far from the router, a wired connection or a mesh Wi-Fi node near the TV makes a big difference. See Ethernet vs Wi-Fi on a Firestick.

Step 3: Create your account and choose a pack

Create your account

Go to create an account, enter your name, email and a password, and accept the terms. Depending on how the site is set up, you may be asked to verify your email by clicking a link. Our account setup guide covers this step by step.

Choose your pack

Packs differ by length: the longer the pack, the lower the cost per month. Compare them on the Plans page, which shows the current price, the length and the cost per month for each.

Things to consider:

  • How long do you want access? Longer packs cost less per month but are paid upfront.
  • How many screens do you watch at once? Each subscription has a connection limit, explained in our article on IPTV connection limits.
  • Are you new to IPTV? A shorter pack lets you try it on your own devices first.

If you choose a pack on the Plans page before signing up, it's kept for you while you create your account, and your invoice is waiting when you arrive.

Step 4: Pay and wait for activation

Your invoice

When you choose a pack, an invoice appears at the top of Plans & Billing with its own invoice number and a reservation timer. The timer holds your price while you pay.

Paying

Press Continue Payment, pick a payment method and follow the instructions in the payment window. Each method has its own step-by-step guide in our payment guides, from Cash App and Venmo to MoonPay and crypto wallets.

When you've sent the payment, press I Have Paid. This lets our team know to check it, and takes you to a page that shows your payment's status.

Activation

Once your payment is confirmed, our team activates your subscription and adds your IPTV login details to your account. You'll get a notification in your dashboard when it's ready. How payment confirmation works for each method is explained in how checkout works.

Step 5: Install the app and sign in

Install

Follow the setup guide for your device. For Fire TV and Android TV, you'll install the free Downloader app and use the official code; our article on the Apollo TV Downloader code covers that tool in detail.

Find your login details

Open My Account. Once your subscription is active, it shows everything you need: your username and password, playlist links, Xtream login details for player apps, your expiry date and your connection limit. Each item has a copy button.

Sign in and start watching

Open the app, enter your details, and give it a minute to load the channel list the first time.

Picking a device for each TV

If you're setting up more than one screen, it helps to plan which device goes where:

ScreenGood optionWhy
Main TV with a 4K pictureA Fire OS Fire TV Stick 4K Max or a Fire TV CubeMore storage and better Wi-Fi; the Cube has a network port
Second TV in HDA Fire OS Fire TV Stick or an Android TV boxEnough for HD, lower cost
Phone or tabletThe Android app, or a player on iPhone and iPadWatch anywhere at home
Laptop or desktopThe Windows or Mac appHandy for a desk or kitchen

Remember that each screen playing at the same time uses one of your subscription's connections, so check your connection limit before planning several TVs.

Mistakes to avoid

These are the slip-ups that most often slow new customers down:

  • Buying a Vega OS Fire TV stick. Check the operating system before you buy; Vega OS models can't install the Apollo TV app.
  • Using your website password in the app. Your IPTV login details are different from your website login. They're in My Account.
  • Paying outside your account. Only pay through the payment window linked to your own invoice. Anyone asking you to pay elsewhere isn't us; our guide to the official Apollo Group TV website explains how to spot lookalike sites.
  • Sending the wrong amount. For Bitcoin-based methods, send the exact amount shown, and remember that some apps take their fee out of what you send. Our article on Bitcoin network fees explains how to avoid a short payment.
  • Skipping the internet check. A connection that's fine for films can still struggle with live TV in the evening.

What happens when your pack ends

Your expiry date is shown in My Account. A few days before it, you'll get a reminder notification in your dashboard. When the pack ends, channels stop loading until you choose another pack. If you buy a new pack while your current one is still running, the new period is normally set to begin when the current one ends, so you don't lose any days. Our Apollo Group TV renewal guide walks through renewing step by step.

After you're set up

A few things worth knowing in your first week:

Example: a first-time setup, start to finish

Here's how a typical first setup goes for someone with a Fire TV Stick and Wi-Fi.

  • They check the stick under Settings > My Fire TV > About and confirm it runs Fire OS.
  • A speed test on the stick in the evening shows a steady 40 Mbps, comfortable for HD.
  • They choose a pack on the Plans page, create an account, and land on their invoice.
  • They pay with one of the payment methods, following its guide, and press I Have Paid.
  • While waiting for activation, they install Downloader and the Apollo TV app.
  • When the activation notification arrives, they copy their login from My Account into the app and start watching.

Doing the installation while waiting for activation is the time-saver: by the time the login details arrive, everything else is ready.
